National Report - the Slovak Republic
May 2015- October 2015

The situation in the Slovak healthcare system has not changed. The dictation of health insurance companies continues in determining the volume and the prices of medical services.

The real price of performance in the health care has not been determined yet. The corruption scandals in top management positions of health care system continue. But what we can see is just the tip of the iceberg and the media show and shadows. On the contrary, it continues the effort to put the blame for mistakes of the system to doctors and other health care professionals. We do not see a real effort to find solutions how to improve the system and make the clear and fair rules for all stakeholders.
